“The French Island will host the SCL finals of 2012, as it was first planned in Canada, but there were some organizing problems and they preferred to have the finals next year there in Canada.

“Therefore we moved it to Martinique, where the finalists will get the opportunity as well to end their season with a nicely-paid holiday and a great beach party!  That is also [characteristic of] the Strongman Champions League, because SCL wants the best and gives the best for its top athletes.

“Not a bad venue to end your season in a nice holiday resort with a great battle on the beach in between.

“Ten athletes will be invited for this finals, the top five of the SCL ranking for sure, and some invitations chosen by performance, strength and character to make a perfect mix of sports and entertainment.

“The leader at the moment and possible winner, Zydrunas Savickas, will be there for sure to fight for his second world title in the Coppa Cocktails Strongman Champions League.

“After the WSM ending tomorrow, SCL will continue and we will announce much more information about the first Savickas Classic and the World Championships Log lift, live on Eurosport, coming the weekend of October 6 -7, 2012.“Stay tuned for more from the SCL,” said Mostert.
